Rails are rolled at Bruckhausen since 1894.
Today an ultra modern production plant for rolling rails is located here.
The blooms are heated in a walking beam furnace and then de-scaled.
In the section rolling mill the blocks are roughed down
to a size suitable for the finishing mill,
a four stand tandem reversing mill.
Two ultra modern quick-changing devices allow production
of rails in lengths of up to 120m.
One of the two stands from the 20ies is used to
roll grooved rails by means of a traverse rolling technique.
Finally the rails are straightened and undergo quality control.
